Politicians view Unions as large groups of "Influenced Voters" with large well funded P.A.C. Funds(Political Action Committee).
Many funds contain thousands and thousands of dollars, all skimmed off Union Members paid dues.
Most Union Members have no idea who receives their money, in what amounts and how often. This money is handed out the the "Politically Active PAC Fund Committees." More often then not, there is not member vote relating to who is supported, for how long and there isn't any clear limits or reporting to members prior to checks being cashed. Many see this as a blatant abuse and a hidden agenda perpetrated by a handful of insiders.
- Should Union Members receive notice before candidates are chosen?
- Should Candidates present campaign platform statements before being chosen to receive Union funds?
- Do members deserve to see past legislation incumbents have worked on to support the positions of these Union donations?
- Should there be time limits, funding limits set on the amounts given before Members vote on a candidate?
These are just some questions Union Members must ask. Do you know where your money goes? Whats your view?
